In the past few years surgeries for sports related injuries have seen tremendous advances.  These include new implants, such as the internal brace.  This device allows patients with ankle instability to undergo surgery followed by a rapid rehabilitation protocol.  Patients no longer require long periods in a cast or prolonged periods of time on crutches.
